This is a rare, complete late 19th-century Victorian ceramic "Cherry Tooth Paste" lidded advertising pot with its matching base, manufactured by S. Maw, Son & Thompson of Aldersgate Street, London.
It features beautiful underglazed black transfer-printed typography and graphics of the manufacturer's name and the text "for cleaning and preserving teeth and gums."
It is an authentic piece of apothecary history with age-related crazing, a beautiful natural patina, full of character. It would be perfect to show off in a bathroom, cabinet, or collection.
